Prolific Egyptian-Australian DJ & producer moktar needs little to no introduction. Known worldwide as a multidimensional multihyphenate, his work bends elements of techno, IDM, jungle & breakbeats with homely inflections of Arabic instrumentation, creating hypnotic speaker thumpers.

Following the debut of his live show in Naarm/Melbourne and the release of his latest singles, ‘Wrong’ & ‘Bang’, moktar announces his next offering ‘Bank Storm’ the next single from his upcoming record and his live show debut on Gadigal Land that feels like the natural next step.

The night will see moktar move through two distinct forms, beginning with a powerhouse DJ B2B alongside fellow Australian electronic figurehead Roza Terenzi. Together, two of the country’s most commanding and forward-thinking selectors will push through heavy-duty bass, techno, breaks and club sounds before moktar takes complete steer of the ship for his Eora live debut.

His debut self-titled EP ‘moktar,’ released via Steel City Dance Discs in 2022, became a defining statement of intent; receiving widespread praise for its raw emotional weight, genre-defying production and deeply personal exploration of identity, migration and belonging. The release established moktar as one of the country’s most exciting new electronic voices, earning support from DJs, radio stations and tastemakers globally.

Over the last few years, moktar’s rise has accelerated rapidly. From international tours across Europe, the UK and Asia, to massive festival slots at Glastonbury Festival, Dekmantel Festival, RISING, Sugar Mountain and Sydney’s Vivid Festival, moktar has solidified his spot amongst his peers, supporting some of electronic music’s most revered names, including The Prodigy. He’s been able to bridge real-life audiences and his online music community through his mixes and selections that have found a home on globally respected radio platforms including NTS Radio, Rinse FM and Seoul Community Radio, further cementing his reputation as a boundary-pushing selector with an instinct for emotionally charged, forward-thinking club music.
