BoyWithUke, the anonymous singer, songwriter, and producer armed with a ukulele, has become a viral alt-pop hitmaker since emerging in 2021. Little is known about the social media star who uses an opaque face shield adorned with LED eyes to conceal his identity, except that he produces all of his confessional, lo-fi pop songs himself, at home on a tablet. With a string of highly successful releases often written in response to requests from fans, BoyWithUke boasts three full length releases, multiple hit singles (including the massive Toxic) and collaborations with the likes of blackbear, mxmtoonand Oliver Tree.
His biggest hit to date was written after a fan commented “make a song about toxic friends,” the response being Toxic.The song exploded online, vaulting to #1 at Alternative Radio and reaching over 1.5 billion streams.
